As a moderate D I've never understood why our party as catered so much to groups like NARAL and Planned Parenthood. First trimester abortion is a tough issue but surely we can tolerate pro-life members of our party. Furthermore, our position has been one of extremism. Support for third trimester abortion! Partial-birth abortion is so obviously wrong that I was never as embarassed as the day most D's in Congress vote against the ban. Sucking a baby's brains out is murder.
