I really don't think that's the answer. And here why,
South Region:
15 WMA's (MOST BEING BUCK ONLY, a couple with ARP)
7 - 1 per quota
1 - 1 annual
2 - 2 annual
3 - 1 per season
1 - 2 per day
1 -1 per day
And no these are not small areas, but most do have shorter seasons. I have been watching this for several years now and I find more people on the quota trade sites, trading from the South and Southwest Region. This in turn cause a problem for other regions, these hunters have to put in for other regions in order to hunt the season. You'll find that to with places like Toso Mark. Are this people content with hunt for a few days and then being done for the year. No, they buy more permit so they can draw for some place to hunt after they are done there. And most hunter want to hunt close to home, I wish we could find away to give hunters that hunt a area (close to Home) faithfully a permit and then if there were any left let them be drawn for but I know that not ever going to happen. I know some on the workshop group want to make the preference drawing non-transferable. What do you think of that? How about if you have only 1 hunt choice. To me that would free up some permits too. I know I currently put in for my first choice and then the next four are areas I know I can trade for my first. This might slow some of it down too. I don't have the answer but I know that making them non-tranferable is going to cause alot of people to stop hunting or go to a differnet State to hunt.(at least that the feeling I get talking to hunter about it)
