“Hallo Reagan-baby,” Mick spoke as he breezed into her apartment and placed a kiss on her cheek. She looked at him and raised an eyebrow. “Reagan-baby? We aren’t dating so there are no nicknames.”
“I call Nikita Popsicle,” Mick pointed out and Reagan rolled her eyes. “Mick… It’s Reagan.”
“Ok,” Mick pressed a kiss to her lips and ran his hand up and down her back. “So… did you get your invite to the wedding?”
Reagan reached behind her to take Mick’s hand off of her back, but she didn’t let it go. She walked towards the small living space and pulled up the card. “They didn’t need to send invites…. We all knew about it.”
“But it is part of the process of having a wedding,” Mick pointed as he looked at the invite. “So… this isn’t labeled for an ‘And Guest’. Does that mean that you are going stag?”
“Yes,” Reagan nodded her head up and down. “Aren’t you?”
“That’s such a coincidence,” Mick exclaimed as he chuckled. “It’s like they think we are dating.”
Reagan rolled her eyes. “We haven’t been on a date, Mick. We aren’t dating.”
Mick pulled Reagan down onto his lap as he cleared his throat. “But there was that one night… you know… that… things went…”
“That was just sex. People can have sex without dating,” Reagan pointed out as she didn’t move off of Mick’s lap as he lightly kept her in his arms.
“But then there usually isn’t the next night,” Mick pointed out and Reagan slapped him slightly. “Booty calls don’t count as dating. We’ve been over this.”
Mick sighed and adjusted so that Reagan slipped to the couch beside him. “So… the fact that we are sharing a room after the reception…”
“It means that there aren’t many options hear the cabin for accommodations… and it is being fiscally prudent,” Reagan answered quickly and without needing to think about it. She had to say this to someone else, or multiple people, recently.
Mick thought about this for a moment and snapped his fingers quickly. “Maybe we should be fiscally prudent on a gift… buy them something together.”
Reagan swung her head from side to side. “Nope… because my gift to them is watching Sabina and Adam for their two week honeymoon.”
“Damn,” Mick shook his head from side to side. “I had an idea… of redoing their master bedroom with the things that Nikita had picked out… because the room is still a lot of Michael… and see… I would need to be in the house to do that.”
Reagan chuckled as she shook her head. “I don’t know if remodeling without her input is a good idea.”
“Do you remember how I redid the Gallery for Nikita? She tore things out that she liked and made a folder. I have four other folders like that… representing rooms in this house,” Mick retorted as he rolled his eyes. “Nikita isn’t a girly-girl… and I did talk to Michael about maybe doing this.”
Mick touched her cheek. “You may need some help with Sabina and Adam…. I can help you keep Gretchen out of the house.”
Reagan shook her head slightly. “I don’t know how well that is going…see… with the wedding being at the cabin, Gretchen can’t go… but Lisa is going to be there…”
“They are friends,” Mick announced and Reagan shrugged her shoulders. “They are teenage girls… and I don’t know… Adam spends a lot of time with Lisa.”
“As friends…. Because they do things together that Gretchen doesn’t like to do,” Mick rolled his eyes as he shook his head. “See… you are going to need me there to deal with the man stuff.”
“While you decorate?” Reagan quipped as she raised an eyebrow. She laughed as she pushed at Mick. “You know that you can do this… I don’t mind.”
“That’s good,” Mick answered as he thought for a second. “I could have come over either way… I mean, I have the key to this place… and Michael gave me a key to the house so I could work on the gift.”
Reagan leaned against Mick and sighed. “Ok… so we are going to be fiscally prudent on our gifts.”
Mick wrapped his arms and turned Reagan to look at him. “When are we going to go on a real date? When can we start dating?”
Reagan tried to pull away as she shook her head. “I like what we are now, Mick… why change anything?”
Mick had lots of answers, but Reagan kissed him, and deepened the kiss.
And he was only a man.
