Subject: A "hi-jinks & hossin'" report

Well it's pretty rare these days for my pal souphead and me to hook up for an afternoon of hossin' and hi-jinks..

Usually I would make fun of soupy right now..But today I won't..I will cut to the chase..

So on a Crisp Sunday afternoon, Soupy swung by Casa Del Slurp and off we went in his 1974 Ford Fairlane..

"You hungry" I asked?

"You bet" he said..

We then decided to try this new specialty restaurant that served a variety of different sausages.. This is a place that has received some good buzz..and regular readers will know that both soupy and I agree that "Chorizo" is one of the main staples of any serious hosser's food pyramid..

The restaurant is actually about 10 minutes away from my house..We spent more time finding parking than we did actually driving..

So we get to the place and check on the menu..this is post on a big board right above the till..

Even though souphead and I both should have tried "The Chaurice" or even "The Hot Italian" we decided to go for "The Sirloiner"..which was a steak turned into a sauage..so as we waited we could watch the fellow prepare our meal.. there was American Football on the TV and I thought.."Hmm..I didn't know they played football in the U.S of A"..but I digress..

our sausages were served.. The cook had placed the steak like sausages in a specially pre-baked slightly curved sesame seed bun..which has been toasted..the sausages had been covered in green pepper and raw onions..as well the cook has also covered this with A1 sauce..all in all the meal was OK..not great..perhaps a little too pricey for what we got..we might go back one day..but..I doubt it..

afterwards we hit a hardware store drove downtown and also visited two comicshops..:-) and a new HMV and both soupy and I were astounded by their DVD selection..I could of spent a lot of money there..but instead I will put what I want on my x-mas "wish list" since my sweetie complains I always buy stuff that I want and then she doesn't know what to get me for x-mas..on our way back to soupy's car we stopped off at a downtown hotdog vendor and bought a couple of jumbo beef dogs..covered in fried onions, sauerkraut and all the hotdog fixin's..these downtown dogs redeemed the honor that our previous meal had lost to the sausage..

It was fun..
