As some of you might know, I was not impressed with the pilot, but I did sit through it again last night. (What I did was I flipped back and forth between WL and OTS.) My opinion about the pilot still hasn't changed, still only liking a few parts. As for the new episode, I liked it a lot! I know that I could not have been the only one to run Jeff's WL gospel performances through my head in the time between Chip announcing and Jeff performing. I have not seen Jeff performing live (with the exception of my dreams) but I also would like to see him cut loose. (I would also like to see him not wearing a suit once.) Of the other cast members, I like Monty (the bartender). Seeing him in the maid's outfit was quite a surprise! It's going to take me a while to get Little Brenda Dynamite's song out of my head! Especially the Jack Black version. The character of Caramel is still too ditzy for me, but I did like her line about having all of Brenda's album. I still don't like Fifi and the Professor but I did like the Matziland line. (Sorry about the spelling.) While I gave the pilot episode a 3 (out of 10), I give last night's a 6.
