Subject: I must speak out in support of Swiss Chalet ...
In reply to: Quink 's message, "My high school, Tim Horton's, Swiss Chalet, Smarties, and Chip's ear drums" on 03/28/03 3:35pm

Swiss Chalet is mainly a rotisserie chicken place.

Sit down, family style more, nothing fancy. But not too fast foody. It's a nice inbetween place.

I admit that their special sauce is ... beyond disgusting. However, all you have to do is say 'no sauce please' and they will not bring it and then you will be happy. They do gravy instead. gravy's good.

My parents go to Swiss Chalet for every sunday lunch pretty well. When they shut down the swiss chalet in our city for about oh, 4 years (our city tends to suck for variety - but if you want italian food ... *L*) everytime they came to visit me they'd 'take me' to swiss chalet (aka an excuse for them to go eat there).

They also used to give toblerones with their christmas festive special meals. now it's lindor. it's not quite as good as the toblerones were so I pout. but it's still yummy.

So basically ... chicken yummy. Fries yummy. Salads yummy. Soup yummy. Even can do good garlic bread.

Sauce not yummy.

Yummy outweighs not yummy!

Even the Barenaked Ladies like it! Ha!

(and besides, their use of it as a lyric brought me great amusement as I talked to american friends who were trying to transcribe the lyrics and had no clue what chalet swiss meant & came up with very interesting words to replace those ... that and the 'dans le maison' really screwed them up ...)
