Remember the last Mr. Cigar Show where he said he only wanted to do 12 or 13 episodes? That's only half a season. I could see them not wanting to lose another big cast member, considering the episodes have always distinguished his credit "with Ryan Stiles as Lewis".

Maybe half a season with Ryan on consistently is better than a whole season with him missing half the time...
