I got a message from Bill Blumberg's wife on Tuesday that he had died. No other info available but it seems to have been unexpected. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact Shelly so the only link I have is to the funeral home. (http://www.herrfuneral.com/?pagetype=memlist) His funeral is on Saturday. I'll miss Bill - he was one of the first people I met at Sewanee and from that time on I knew he was a "friend for life". People were too important to Bill to just let them drift away. He was committed to his friends in a genuine way that made me feel privileged to know him. And there was not another Iota Nu brother who more embodied those ideals of faith and fraternity. Condolences can be placed on the Herr Funeral home website.

And I agree, with you when you say than he was a " friend for life ", it's how I felt it for you all posters of this board. I'm sad for his family and friends. -- Laurence, 03:59:09 09/28/11 Wed

[> [> Part of me still hopes Bill will post a message at any time now and say this was all a big, bad taste joke and jump into a diatribe with those 19-letter words, as Jan liked to say. Or just joke that the only thing he'd lost so far had been his *hair*!.......................... Bill's wife, Shelley, left a message on the funeral home's page.
