Mary...

Oh, hand surgery... I used to write medical humor and hand surgery just gave me new info to work with. It was a good thing...at least when I think about it in THOSE terms. ;o)

It's GREAT to hear from you! I was almost getting worried until I read on meetup.com that you are a student now. Heh... I have to tell you.... I have been offered a teaching position. I'm thinking about taking it. It would be hard classes such as anatomy and pharmacology. I'm thinking about it long and hard. I love torturing students. heh heh heh... Let's just say I have done this before and I love it. ;o)

My first day of class is always the same. I put my long hair in a bun and borrow granny glasses from someone. I put the granny glasses on and wear them on the tip of my nose. Then I look over the top of the glasses and talk to my students. HAHA! After they have each looked at me and rolled their eyes then I let my hair down. Seriously, I let my hair out of the bun and put it down. Then I laugh at them for making assumptions about me before giving me a chance.

Then they get the lecture on... remember when you were in high school and you wanted to be treated like an adult? Instead everyone treated you like you were in high school? Your parents looked over your shoulder and your teachers made sure you were doing your work? Well guess what? You ARE an adult and I WILL treat you like an adult. You are in college now, not high school. You will need to deal with it if you want to pass my class.

Gawd I love the first day of class!
