I walked down to the barn at Equestrian Delight, I was going to pick out new colors for my horses blankets and halters etc. I do this every 12 years(SIM, it is every year in our time.) I got to the barn and opened up the door and walked inside. Cassie and Dreamer Winnied to me, they are in the first stalls, and they triggered a train reaction because I am the ONLY person that all the horses will winny to. ~:)~ I took the pencil and note pad out of my jacket pocket, and turned to Cassie's Stall and opened up the top of her stall door. She walked over and put her head through. Her old colors were black and orange, so, I suppose her new ones can be my favorite color combo - Royal Blue and Yellow. I went on to the next stall on this side of the barn, and opened the stall door, Wonder stuck her head out. I scratched her ears and said hey Wonder. She nickered happily. My oldest, and my very first horse, I took care in this decison. Navy was her old color, so I figured another solid. Hmmmm, I think Hunter, that looks good on chestnut horses. Next Horse On This Side, Return To Sender. I just got her this year so she needs her very first blankets! Navy and gray, nothing to special, I will take more time on her when she moves up among my favorite horses. Last mare on this side, Fiery Gold, Black and yellow, picked them out last night. Ok, moving into the stallion and gelding section. I opened up the doors seperating the Mares from the stallions and geldings. First horse on this side, Celtic Mist. I had allready picked out his colors, red, royal blue and white. Not A Tought Choice! ;)! On to Sunny Delight, his old colors where hunter and tan, I have royal blue and black pre picked for him. Alright, Liberty knows I am going to him now! He is winnying impatiently. Easy guy! I yell to him, and he stops. He is special to me, one of my best jumpers. I chose black and sky blue, last night. On to my newest adoptee, Mon Cheri! adopted him just the other day, he doesn't really know me yet. I go into the stall where he is huddled against the back wall in the corner. Hey Mon, I call to him. He looks at me and I hold out an apple. He timidly walks over and eats it. He is skinny. I think to myself. But then, what do I expect? I rescued him pretty much. His old ratty halter is gray and matches his coat. I think I will keep gray and add light blue to it. I put my pencil and paper in my pocket and walk over and lay a gentle hand on his neck, which is thin and very thin because he hasn't been trained. Poor Guy, I WILL come back tomorrow and start ground manners with you O.K. Little Guy? He just looked at me. With a final pat I head out and on to Mr. Gold Nick. I look at the spare blanket and halter I have on him, they are both black and look great on him so I leave them to be his and write down black as his color. The last horse on this side, Panther. The bay horse is pacing in his stall. He is in pretty good shap, I think to myself. I decide quickly on a color for him, because the halter he has on is tye died, I decide that can be his color! He can have pretty much any color! Now, down the other side. I did this side in my head last night so I just have to double check and see if the colors look good on each of them. Wendover's Highlander, teal. Ben, black and purple. Talk Of The Town, Royal Blue. Sunny Dream, Burgundy and Black. And The Last Stallion, Paradise Island, Burgundy and White. I closed the door between mares and stallions and went on to the rest of the mares. I WILL FINISH LATER - EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!
