Conneaut may indeed owe its life to the demise of Idora as well as Euclid Beach, Westview Park, White Swan, Chippewa, Summit Beach, Sandy Lake, Myers Lake and a dozen other parks that were once part of Ohio and PA over the last century. Patrons of Conneaut know that their park could easily be reduced to a page in a history book without our help.

Just recently, Whalom Park in Mass. closed after a century of operation. In the past years it had sold off its classic carrousel to stay in operation a few more years, but it wasn't enough. One member of the family that originally owned it is currently selling of items and memories from their collection in an effort to buy back controlling interest in that park in an attempt to reopen it.

Don't let Conneaut close again! We have been fortunate to have seen it reopen twice after problems, it may not happen again. Conneaut needs OUR help! I have seen so many of the parks I knew as a child disappear, I don't want to see this one close, and I don't think you do either.

Take that short drive to Conneaut, spend a day there and help keep the park in operation. Stop by the office and voice your support as well. I know those folks would love to have the moral support as well as the finacial support to keep the park going.

As we have seen with Idora's coasters, saying I'll go there tomorrow, is not good enough, go TODAY!
