hi, Zoa, i understand that you do, but there are things that make that a bad thing. if its tighter, only the illegal guns would be out there, & the innocent helpless- trust me- this i know. my kids are educated, first rule- always assume its loaded, second- never point it at anything, or anyone UNLESS you are prepared to kill them or get killed, because they may have one too, & just might be faster than you- which,, when thought out, makes you realize that when you have one, you can get killed just as easy. not to be disrespectful to anyone, but if JUST one of the teachers, or adults at colimbine had had a gun, like the one in florida DID, less would of died, or had been injured. i was bullied in school till i was 13, so i know the fear it can induce in you, i have aways asked my kids to help out a kid getting bullied, & to stand up for who they are with pride. my son protected, so does my daughter. i pray everyday that she just gets thru high school alive. protecting the innocent would & could actually save her life one day. sad thing is , if that ever happened at my daughters school, i will probably know who the kid is & so will she, and God help me, but everyone close to her will be there with a gun in hand to get in & stop that kid or get as many out as possible- i dont think any force that be could stop ME. i would take a bullet for her, & i would drop the shooter IF i had to. truth be known, i would probably be there with an extra one for her, to make sure she would get out if i didnt. i know her, she would go look for her friends. & if i could i would TRY to talk the kid down, chances are we will know each other, & they would know i wouldnt be there ALONE, they just might not see them. so, no not tighter, zoa, educated, VERY educated. no matter how tight it got, i'd bet you all i had, i could buy one on the street & if you dealing with a desperate kid, they WILL find one. what needs to happen is to try to HELP the kid, BEFORE they get THAT desperate. i beleive my kids have done that, check that, i KNOW they have.
