I was between childhood and teen when Dr. Spock came out with the "Don't spank your child!" BS!!! Although true,sometimes you have kids that do not respond to spankings, but after awhile and being given so much reign they think they are above any disciplinary actions and so therefore start doing as they see fit, when they see they can get away with that they push the envelope a little further. The media doesn't help,but it's up to parental guidance to steer the kids in the right direction and control what the kids watch on TV. I don't believe that the rest of the world should have to go without just cause 'I don't want my child exposed to this or that' . I run in to this all the time, and it burns my buns!!! If you don't like having control of your home,by all means!! Let your kid do what ever he/she sees fit,say what they want to say,etc. but don't come whining at me when they come home and start going into your wallet or purse taking out money,then when you tell them to stop they beat you so bad you end up in the hosp.!! My son was used to hitting his stepmother because his dad wouldn't stop him, he tried to hit me once,notice ONCE and when he picked his self off the floor from across the room he decided that wasn't such a good idea! Same as my daughter was used to "B" slapping their stepmother,she tried it on me and she came to in almost the same position!! Neither of them have ever raised their hands to me since!! They do however slap and hit their dad!!!
