Date Posted: 10:34:52 12/09/03 Tue In reply to: someguyIL 's message, "Tabb vs. McNeal" on 15:29:33 12/08/03 Mon Here's my opinion of the two: Tabb is a better shooter (though neither are too proficient) and a better ballhandler. Tabb can attack with either his right or his strong hand (left). Josh also has two inches and some muscle on Mc Neal. Jerel is the better athlete, as he is one of the top athletes around. He's also a better defender. However, McNeal CANNOT shoot (contrary to what some would have you believe). His form is fine, but he releases it way to flat so the further he is from the basket, the worse it gets for him. He's also pretty much restricted to going right against decent competition. He doesn't seem to be able to go left. I'm not saying he can't handle the ball with his left, but he never uses it to attack a defender one v. one. Jerel also plays harder, which is why EVERYONE is willing to overlook his deficiencies. Most believe by next summer, they won't be weaknesses anymore. In the end, I'd take Tabb over McNeal. Josh has been criticized for being lackadasical, but that's been against "lower" competition. It seems to me he always shows up and delivers when needed, and even when he is coasting, he's still producing. If McNeal grows two more inches, or really improves his ballhandling skills, then I may be willing to give him the nod. All in all, I'm not sure you could go wrong with either one, but I think Tabb is the better player right now. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
