That may be the case, but do not discount the Chicago prep Conference. I've covered this league the last five years and there's always two or three teams battling for the league title come mid-February, Holy Trinity and St. Benedict among the usual suspects.

North Lawndale is a program that has risen quickly since its beginnings back in 2000. We may be talking about Hales now, but there are a number of players on this Phoenix squad that could truly give the Spartans a run for their money.

Coach Lewis Thorpe has really done a good job in building this program from scratch, and now the fruits of his labor are starting to come to the forefront. Who knows.. you could see the Phoenix at the Class A Sweet 16 in a year or two.
