Date Posted: 22:26:55 12/29/03 Mon WOW!!!! it doesn't get any better than tonight at the Proviso West tourney. Von Stueben leads Julian the whole game, but #33 Lorenzo Ecford hits a baby hook with no time remaining to give Julian the win by 1 over a non caring Von Stueben ball club. Angel Santiago Von Stueben PG- bad attitude!!! seems to lack interest in the game. great passer and good shooter, but i think because he's on the Puerto Rican National team he doesn't have to give it 100% all the time. Jon Scheyer GBN SG- dirty, sick shooter!! (that's good) had an off night tonight due to a swarming HF defense who knew that he was the only way that GBN had a chance. This kid is only a soph and he's fun to watch. Glenbrook North supporting cast- AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!! these guys were scared PERIOD!!! this tells you two things 1)Scheyer is good enough to lead them to the proviso tourney semis (which means he's great) 2) Coach Weber is a HS coach genius. I'm sorry but the other 4 kids on the court looked brutal. Cyrus Tate HF PF- This kid is like a firecracker. He can play. Julian Wright HF F- athletic, lanky, but not as great as advertised in this posters opinion. I'd take 2 other guys off of this team before him. Julian Coach Loren Jackson- this guy was great, he outcoached the von stueben coach badly. people were leaving with 3 minutes to go thinking that it was over. his team ran the offense well and played the most fundamentally sound that i've ever seen from a public league team. kids respected him, and he was very impressive with his subbing patterns and the last inbounds play that won the game.....talk about a patient inbounder. HS basketball was very fun to watch this evening.... hope to get feedback from others.... btw, anybody who was at the game, how about the little kid shooting at halftime of the julian/von stueben game? the kid was probably 3 yrs old and he had better handles than most of the kids playing in the game!!!
