Yeah, I can understand how it would be annoying, if it wasn't changed in the re-release. I'm not a published author yet or anything, but I'm so obsessive about editing what I write that if I am I'll probably want to re-release books every few years so I can fix them. XD

Well, in Dragonsblood they're still breeding watchwhers as guard beasts, so presumably they just kept doing that until they became useful in the mines and stuff. Like, "We have these ugly critters hanging around, might as well make them useful." But I don't know about the people - presumably some of them got to try Impressing the dragons, later, but we dont' know for sure. *shrug*
