No Name: I know that fear is a stupid reason... And if it was just a fear of going to Hell, I would still be an atheist and the only thing I'd regret about being an atheist would be being a hypocrite for teaching a Sunday school. But my Dad.... You see, he went to a Catholic private school, and when you go to his parents' house, you can count over fifty religious objects, including statues, crosses, doves, etc... And my Mom tells me that when me or my little sister are bad, he calls her a bad mother, yells at her, and does other things... It sounds like a scare tactic, I know, but I know that he hits her, she once showed me a mark and I've heard them fight... So the thing is, if he found out I was an atheist... And if I stood my ground... He will blame her. I am very sure of it, because she grew up in a Baptist family and changed to the Catholic faith in order to get married to him. So... That's part of why I'm Christian again.
