• She smiled warmly, her eyes closing for a moment when he kissed her neck, her hand coming up to curl around his bicep for a moment before it dropped back to her side and she headed inside with him. Her eyes widened as she looked around, her fingers tightening around his arm and she was about to speak before one of the owners of the gallery came over, fawning over him, complimenting him on the turn out and encouraging him that the night would only get busier from here. Cam stayed politely at his side before the gallery owner insisted he meet a few people. A smile crossed her lips when he looked down at her. • He had been raised right by his parents and knew how to make conversation and be gracious and friendly when it was necessary - he was just more comfortable and more himself when he could be quiet and broody, but for a night like tonight he could put on a smiling face. "Don't go disappearing on me... You know how those artist-types can be." He warned her affectionately and dipped his head to kiss her warmly once, and then twice before allowing himself to be ushered off to meet people. He didn't mind the PDAs tonight - not that he ever did really, but tonight especially he wanted everyone to know that she was with him. He glanced back over his shoulder at her once more, one eyelid dropping in a wink, before he turned his attention to the introductions that the gallery owner was making. • She smiled sweetly, promising she would be back after one quick tour around the gallery before she headed off. She paused at each painting, the ones that she had been there while he was working on catching her attention in particular. When she gazed at the painting she saw a lot more than the picture, she saw the expression on his face when he was getting that strand of hair just right on the woman's head, she saw the way he so carefully played with the colors until he got it right the way he wanted...she saw into him, his soul, his feelings and his intentions with the painting and she felt privilaged that she was privy to that. She smiled a touch at the picture she was looking at before she headed towards the crowd who was standing around one larger portrait, wondering which one that was. • He had met some people and mingled a bit but now had a moment to find her again to see how things were going. When he spotted her by the portrait of herself, he worried for a moment - he had thought about asking her if they could use it, but then had been afraid she would be shy and say no, and then had recalled that she had said he could do what he wanted with the paintings he did of her... So, he had given the gallery permission to use it, and he just hoped that she wouldn't be upset with him. Slipping up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and brushed a kiss to the sensitive spot behind her ear before resting his chin on her shoulder. "I hope you're not mad..." • She looked behind her shoulder with a smile before she shook her head. "No, sweetie, I'm not mad..." She murmured softly, a smile playing on her lips as she looked up at the portrait and then at the people around him. "It was just a little weird at first to zee all these people staring at a painting of me." She murmured softly, for his ears only. "Kinda creepy, really, I think that old guy has been standing here for like twenty minutes." She grinned teasingly before she turned around to face him, her hands going up to his shoulders, straightening the collar on his jacket. "How are you doing? Are you having a good time?" • He laughed quietly at that and allowed his gaze to travel over the people standing around before he turned his complete attention to her. "Yeah, fair enough... But they find you intriguing, and I'd rather they stare at a picture of you anyway... Leave the real you just for me." He teased playfully, and linked his finger at the small of her back, holding her tight against him as he dropped a kiss to the tip of her nose. "I'm good... Having a good time. Met lots of people... I'm just glad people showed up. I was afraid it would be me... And you." • She laughed at that, shaking his head. "It would never be just you, I'll always be hanging around." She stated honestly, a smile on her face. If there was any thing he was going through and he didn't want to be alone through it, she would be right at his side, she wouldn't let him go through anything by himself. Reaching up, she smiled lightly, pressing a warm kiss to his lips before she leaned back and gazed at him affectionately. "Looks like it's all going to be a smashing success. Pretty soon I am going to see you on talk shows and be able to say 'I knew him when'." She grinned brightly, tipping her head back to see him better. "You'll be all big and famous." • "That's good to know..." He commented honestly and then laughed quietly and tipped his head back a little. "Yeah, I kind of doubt that... But thanks for the vote of confidence any way." Smirking slightly, he raised a hand to brush her hair back from her face, then just linked his fingers through hers and gestured down the line to the next painting on display. "Shall we finish your rounds?" There were also a couple of other artists' work set up that he wanted a chance to check out before the night was over. He was pretty sure he had met all the people that there were to meet for now - and figured someone would let him know if he had anything else to do. For now, he just wanted to enjoy the night. • She nodded lightly, her hand tightening around his for a moment before she headed down the line to gaze at the painting. She was just so enamored with him that nothing else really appealed to her as much. "So, did you meet all the people you needed to meet?" She questioned, smiling warmly as someone came up to compliment Travis and his work, called her beautiful and then walked away. "Wow, don't think I would ever get used to that...." She smirked, shaking her head as she grinned lightly. "Seriously, I might just get a big head if we hang around here a lot." That was next to impossible, she was the most down to earth girt here was. • "I think so... For now at least." He confirmed with a slight nod and didn't bother to conceal the bit of relief that he felt. Meeting new people in such a vulnerable situation was a little bit nerve-wracking - something so personal to him was on display for everyone to see, and he just wanted them all to appreciate what he did. A soft laugh escaped him and he shrugged a little, brushing her hair back with one hand so he could lean down and place a sweet kiss to the curve where her shoulder met her neck. "Well just enjoy it. You deserve it." He meant it, and a comment like that was just like him - to turn a night that he had worked hard his whole life for, into something that she deserved to enjoy as well. • She knew he didn't like to be the center of attention and so was more than willing to wander around with him, smiling and greeting people, talking to him quietly about the different artists that were on display. She smiled warmly, encouraging him to talk with some of the younger artists who were there and impressed with his work, even though he wanted to shrug off the praise she would have none of it. Her hand was always on his bicep, on his wrist, on his back, they constantly touching and she loved that too, he was just such a strong, talented person, she was proud to be there with him. • It was getting late and even if it didn't show outwardly, he was getting tired of being the center of attention - he could handle only so much. Standing behind her in front of one of the paintings, half involved in a conversation, his fingers kneaded the smooth flesh of her shoulders, a slight, polite smile lighting his features. He had loved the whole night - meeting new, connected people, receiving praise, and getting to spend the whole time with his paws all over her acting like a couple. He liked it. It had been the most couple-y he had been with a girl in a long time and it had been more than nice. Although he was standing with people who were talking, he was glad that Cam had something to say to the people they were with, because his mind was a million miles away. • Her hand crossed her front to rest on her opposite shoulder, atop of his, squeezing softly and letting him know without words that she could tell he was about done with the idle conversation. She let his mind wander, let him have his time, as she engaged the young man in conversation about how he had started painting and he talked to her about how she sketched but she assured him it was more just a private hobby and she wasn't really comfortable letting anyone see her pictures - though that was a bit of a fib because Travis had seen her work and complimented it. She smiled as someone else wanted to speak to the young man so she turned to Trav, smiling sweetly. "Getting tired sweetie?" • He smiled one last time to the younger man and then again when she turned to face him - but more genuinely now, not because he anything against the guy, but just because he was happier to be talking to her at this point in time. "I'm just about ready for you to take me home." He admitted without hesitation, but his tone was a little sheepish - he was plotting to slip away in the night before anyone noticed and could protest. He didn't really think anyone would mind though - he had paid his dues, and met lots of people, and been friendly and gracious. • She smiled sweetly at that, her hand soothing over his chest as she gazed at him. "Everything is good..I think things went really well..." She grinned, looking over her shoulder at everyone wandering around still, it was thinning out a little bit but not to much. "You shouldn't leave too early...wouldn't want people to think you weren't appreciative or anything.." She tipped her face up for another kiss before she leaned back down on the flat off her feet, even in her heels he had a couple of inches on her. "I don't think anyone would really notice if we were to slip out though...so whenever you want...can we stop and get french fries on the way home?" • "I think things went really well too..." He agreed easily and with some confidence, because he was being truthful - thanks to the gallery's connections and reputation, they had succeeded in making the opening night of his first big art showing a success. His hands slid up her sides, then back down to her hips for a moment, before both raised to push back her hair and cup her face as he kissed her forehead softly. "I think I have done okay for meeting and greeting... If we left soon, I don't think any one would mind." He hoped no one would even notice, but it was getting late enough that he figured no one could blame him for heading out. A small smile touched his lips and he nodded a little. "Sure sweetie. • She wanted to ask him why he had been so affectionate the whole night, was it just for the image? Everyone there obviously thought they were an item because that was definitely the vibe he was giving out and she wasn't discouraging it in anyway but they weren't a couple really...that she knew of...so she was a little confused. She didn't quite grasp the boldness needed to flat out ask him though so she just smiled and enjoyed his touches when he gave them, welcoming his kisses and initiating a few of her own through the evening. Now though, she was getting a bit sleepy too and her feet were hurting just a touch so she was ready to go whenever he was. "I don't think anyone would either, it's late enough." • It was just his first time really being out with her on a date-date, and it was such an exciting night, he was just feeling especially affectionate. Also, he wanted for everyone to get that idea - that she was with him. He nodded a little and dropped his hands from her, just linking his fingers through hers. "C'mon then..." She was getting tired too, he could tell, and it had been a good night so far - he figured they might as well pack it in while they were both still a little awake. He lead her from the gallery to the coat check and then out to meet the valet who hurried off to bring his car around, an arm draped around her shoulders as they waited. "So, fries, and home?" • "Mhmmm..." She murmured, shifting to lean against him a little. "And a frosty...frosty and french fries." She grinned up at him charmingly, her hair fluttering a little in the wind. Usually she had it pulled back in a pony tail or up in a bun or something so it was unusual to have it down and even more unusual to have it straight since it was always curly or at the very least wavy. "It got kinda chilly out..." She murmured softly, yawning a touch as she rested her head against his shoulder, a smile on her lips. • "Frosty and french fries. Sounds perfect to me." He assured her with a soft, affectionately amused laugh, and then shifted to shrug off his suit jacket and drape it over her shoulders. He didn't really need it, and it took a while for his car to warm up, so it seemed only right. He opened and then closed the passenger door for her and then moved around to his side and slid as well. "Thanks for coming, Cam... I'm glad you did." He informed her with a small smile and a wink before rolling slowly out the drive - a drive-thru stop to be made and then home. • She let out a soft breath when he placed the jacket over her shoulder smiling at his chivalry before she slid into the cold car. When he finally spoke she smiled sweetly over at him and nodded. "Thanks for inviting me..I'm glad I came too." Her voice was totally honest on that one, she was happy to be there to support him and give him the confidence that he needded to not be his usual slightly reserved self.
