I am of the impression that the color prepress techs can make or break the reproduction regardless of the pressroom problems. Doesn't photoshop dictate how much ink goes on the paper? If that's the case, then the problem seems to not be with the pressroom. Anyway, what I have noticed is how much better the pictures seem recently, within the past month or so.
