I know of no threats, but the writing is kind of on the wall.

In all seriousness, I'm wondering this:

1. If one takes the furlough, will it be looked at as though the worker wants to spend that time away from work? Will management be looking at how easily or not easily the workload is completed with him absent?

2. Or is this simply (really) voluntary, and those who take it will be looked at as helping the company's bottom line?

I need to pay my bills, but at the same time, I don't want to seem like I don't want to help out with the company finances.

I sure could use that week to set up job interviews.
