I'm not a huge fan of Owen's, but when he did his recent piece on the financial issues at WQED, I thought it was straightforward and well-reported. He asked the tough questions of George Miles and he laid out all the salaries, losses and other specfics. I had expected less...and got more.

The rest of the this is just piffle. It's TV and films, people, not the war in Iraq!

And the truth is? TV shows set in Pittsburgh or referencing Pittsburgh are much-loved. It's part of our culture to be feel vaguely dissed -- and to then stand up and say, "Damn right!" when someone notices our great city.....
