Hi Juxtapose,

To answer your questions:
1) Level of activity required?

PoL is fairly relaxed on requirements to maintain your activity. Members are encouraged to participate in guild meetings, forums, hang out in our guild channel, play in guild games and tournaments, etc. BUT it is not a rule. It is very hard to track activity in all those areas so instead we track it through a much simpler method of tracking logins to the guild website. The guild's members area on the website is the portal to our network of private forums, current game names and passwords, and tournament information....so if someone is not logging in to the members area they are not current on needed information to be actively involved in the guild.

So we track activity in PoL by member login. If you check our roster at:
http://www.pofl.org/members/PoLRoster.asp
You will see that it lists last login to the website. If someone hasn't logged in for 3 weeks it is marked on the roster with a warning yellow color. If someone hasn't logged in for 6 weeks it is marked with a red color.
At the bottom of the roster you can see a summary of how many members are considered active and how many aren't. It usually hovers around 80% with new members coming and inactive members going.

2) Which ladder rating do you want on the application, StarCraft or BroodWar?

Hmm...I am not sure if it really matters. This was meant for more information to the people that will be interviewing you before you are made a member in order to better help them understand your familiarity with Battle net.

3) Members still play older versions of Battle net games?

Yes, we do have members who play the older Battle net games.

4) How active is PoL? How old is PoL?

By going to the link I listed above you can get an accurate picture of how many people are considered active in our guild. Once you are a member and able to login the roster will provide more information on members acivity such as regular gaming times, which realms they play on, and profile/character information.

PoL was started on Sept. 1997 by a group of 5 individuals. I know this since I was one of those 5. Unfortunately I am the only remaining one of that original group....which is probably why I wear this really cool self-hug jacket that has the stylishly long sleeves that tie in the back.
