It takes a tremendous amount of discipline and dedication to complete a novel. I know, because I haven't done it yet. I've just finished a book called The Sound of No Hands Clapping, by Toby Young, in which he frequently refers to Syd Fields' words on avoidance strategies in his book, Screenplay.

Reading about how to fight inertia may be just another avoidance strategy. So there! :P
