Hello All,

It's been too long since I visited you and I can only hold my computer snafus responsible. I've been through three and vinally got a new one. I'm going through that painful feeling out period - enjoying the new but it not being quite right. Well, thanks to Diane for giving me the site address (it was lost in the computer shuffle along with my address book).

I wanted to let you all know that I was given the position of International Fiction Editor with Twilight Tales - an on-line magazine based out of Chicago that is always looking for good work. http://www.twilighttales.com/

I've got a limited number of spots over the next year since I've been asked to try and find published (established) writers and non-published writers. Still working the e-mail address out through the site (it isn't working yet). I'll paste the guidlines below more for the what we're looking for than the procedures to submit. Tell your friends.

Cheers,
Ian

SUBMITTING FICTION TO TwilightTales.com
(Updated: September 2005)

Twilight Tales is committed to publishing the highest quality material available from around the world. We’re looking for sharp, stylish prose that pushes the limits of creative writing, entertaining readers and challenging them to examine the depths and heights of insightful literature. All stories should explore, however slightly, some element of fantasy, the supernatural, horror, or science fiction. The materials we accept tend to have a darker, macabre, or unusual slant, and should push the envelope of literary exploration. Twilight Tales is open to unpublished works of fiction, reprints, and stand-alone excerpts from novels.

Word count: One or more short stories totaling between 2,000 to 4,000 words. We will also publish flash fiction of 1,000 words or less.

All writers are asked to provide a biography (100 to 300 words) and a good-quality author photo in JPEG format at the time of submission.

Authors who write in languages other than English are asked to submit both an English translation and the story in its original language.

How to Submit

Submissions should be in proper manuscript format and include full contact information on the first page. E-mail submissions only. Submit entire story as a Word document attachment or RTF attachment only.

U.S. authors: Use the address Ed@twilighttales.com to e-mail submissions to fiction editor Edward DeGeorge.

Authors outside the U.S.A. should contact International Fiction Editor Ian O'Neill at Ian@twilighttales.com.

Please include all copyright information and previous publication information if the story is a reprint. If not a reprint, we will list the copyright under the author’s byline name unless otherwise specified.

Rights and Terms Acquired

Electronic Publication Rights (First Serial Rights or Reprint Rights), podcast rights, plus the right to archive the contributor’s work for up to two years.

Payment and Compensation

Currently, no monetary payment is offered, but bylines are given to all contributors. Promotion of contributors, their works, websites, and any other products or properties through our website will be gladly considered, at the discretion of the publisher.
