Subject: German FitE OOB Modifications

I have made the following changes to the FitE 5.0 German OOB in my own personal version:

1) Changed the unit symbol of Grossdeutschland regiment to motorized infantry and gave the unit 144 trucks to fully motorize it and deleted the horse teams. This is more historically accurate.

2) Added a few more trucks and horse teams to all German Jager and Gebirgsjager units to increase their movement by 1. The Jager and Gebirgsjager were all considered to be "mobile infantry" and were a little faster than regular German infantry. I think that this is more historically accurate.

3) Fully motorized all German motorized/panzergrenadier/panzer units by giving them all enough trucks to maximize their movement (and removed all horse teams where applicable). It will be impossible for the Germans to maintain these high levels of motorization because I did not change the German truck replacement rates, but at least the Germans will start with full motorization (and rapidly go downhill from there). I think that this is more historically accurate.

4) Renamed the German 22nd Infanterie Division into the 22nd Luftlande Division, and changed the unit symbols to the airlanding symbol. This is more historically accurate, even though the 22nd Luftlande Division was never used in its airlanding role during the War in the East, it was historically capable of doing so.

I'm starting to have second thoughts about the 22nd Luftlande Division. Indeed, I'm starting to have second thoughts about allowing any Axis airdrops at all in FitE. I'm also starting to think that the Axis air-transport capacity is too large. To my knowledge, the Axis conducted no airdrops of any significance throughout the entire War in the East. I think I'm going to create my own house rule prohibiting Axis airborne operations in FitE. If I make that house rule, then I'll go ahead and keep the 22nd Luftlande Division because I like the unit symbols, but I won't let them conduct any airborne operations.

On another topic, I also modified the 900 Lehr Brigade. Historically, the 900 Lehr Brigade was a large, fully motorized brigade. So, I deleted all the horse teams and added enought trucks to fully motorize the brigade.

I wpould say although no landings were made there was some capability
House rule for me would say 1 landing per year 41 ,42 and 43 . In fact bearing in mind most air landings are offensive in nature from 43 onwards they are not going to be much use anyway
