Cochran Speedway Celebrates 2007 Season With Awards Banquet
Cochran Motor Speedway honored all of the Points Champions as well as others at the Hillside Bluegrass Park on Friday Nov. 9th. Owner-Promoter Arlene Pittman recognized many people for their hard work throughout the 2007 racing season. The cool autumn evening was filled with great food and fellowship as several hundred attendees recounted their memories of the past racing season. The menu consisted of bar-b-que ribs with all the fixins. After dinner the activities moved to the outdoor pavilion where the stage was filled with trophies, jackets, and many other prizes, which were handed out. In addition to our racing awards there were drivers and teams, which accumulated the most points throughout the racing season, which began in March. This formula not only rewards the top finishers, but also gives great importance to consistency. To all of our Champions in each division we congratulate you on your efforts. Considering many of the battles went down to the final race of the year, it is especially satisfying to those who came out on top. Dennis McDaniel took the C&C pawn city late model title. Eric Baggett was the champ in the Rim Rider Graphics sportsman class. Josh Odom took top honors in the Meyers Performance pure stock division. Dustin Miller was the Badcock Cadet champ. Kevin Dixon won the Last Air & Electric road hawg title. Karl Willard & Timmy Black were Super Stock & rookie champs respectfully.
