Just a suggestion, but I have been doing this and a few of the other pedestrian type rides on knobbys on a MTB. All of a sudden I find myself having to work my ass off to keep up with hefty dudes on their $5000 road bikes. Since I started doing this, I noticed my leg speed has dramatically improved due to different gearing.

If I can ever get away for the Marquette ride, I will be on a road bike.

Will one Barryman please stand up? You will never be on a ride with me with your mtn. bike. I will drop you in the 20 yds. from Mesa's door to Clayton.

Are we suppose to be impressed with this tidbit of knowledge?
