Subject: Thanks for the memories

Very happy to find this site. Being born in the mid-50's, and living 50 miles away from DL, we went there several times a year through out the '60's and '70's. The first thing we did, after entering under the train tunnel, was everyone would wait while I ran to the Horseshoe to get our tickets. Then I would run back to the tunnel, met up with the family, and start our day.

No DL day was complete without seeing the show at the horseshoe. "Here's an elixer for whatever ales you - Pepsi~Cola!"

What can I say? Wally Boag as Pecos Bill, or making Baogaloons? Or Clancy Lowered the Boom? Or the Can-Can girls? What about Slue Foot Sue?

For my 50th birthday, I wanted to go to Disneyland. I hadn't been there for over 20 years. What a shock - I went straight to the Horseshoe to get tickets. I knew the original actors would not be there, but I assumed a new cast would carry on what I remembered from my childhood. Image how I felt, that on my 50th birthday, that not only was there no more Golden Horseshoe Revue, but it had closed 20 years earlier :(

Thanks for having this forum.

DL is NOT DL without the Golden Horseshoe.
