Have mixed feelings at visiting this site. As a former doorman and bartender at the Horseshoe, I was pleased to see the site. I had found the page after searching for Jody Donovan. I have just heard that Richard Dawson had died. I knew Jody used to live with him and I thought I'd look her up. Jody was a year or two older than I when I worked with her in 1964-65. I will always remember her as having a wonderful talent but also being the sweetest girl I have ever met. I used to hang out at the girls apartment and just loved her from afar. She was always so nice to me and I believe she liked me...not as much as I liked her! Many years later, my wife and I were on a cruise and I discovered she was singing. She was a delight to see and talk with, again. I don't know the cause of death but I miss her, now, from afar.

[> [> [> [> Remembering Jody -- JERRY COYLE (Sad), 18:31:45 09/28/12 Fri [1]

Jody Donovan & I worked Cruise ships together 33 years ago.
She was a beautiful woman with the proverbial smile that lit up the room.
She was a great talent, and, as mentioned in previous notes, the sweetest gal you could ever meet. She was loved afar by many. Over the last 33 years I always, happily, assumed that Jody was out there just being Jody. It was with great sadness to hear that she died.....leaving the world a less happy place.

I worked with Jody also on cruise ships! We remained good friends until her passing in 1995 after a very courageous battle with breast cancer. I miss her even now. She was an incredible woman with a huge heart!
