Since where all beginners, and sometimes good resources are hard to come by, we can use this thread to post resources that you have found beneficial and helped you.

Drawing On The Right Side of the Brain by Dr Betty Edwards

The only book for drawing I have is this one. I find this book very helpful for starting out in drawing. The exercises are sometimes grueling, especially the contour exercises. The philosophy is a bit strange as well but I find I will benefit greatly by this book.

For Drawing, I recommend Elfwood as a resource and an inspiration for both drawing and writing. It is a sci-fi fantasy site with great volumes of art and writing. I always find it a pleasure to visit.

Please, contribute a reccomendation for a book or web site that helped you.
