Was this a one-dimensional show, yes. However to call it a bad show to me is a bit of a misnomer since you are dealing with an actress with limited range. Folks, Anne Hathaway was not hosting this show Megan Fox was. You are not gonna get sketches where she displays a sudden wealth of versatility. Ocassionally with a host like this youll have a show where everything comes together and the host decides to go all out (ie Christina Aguilera) but more times than not its going to be one-dimensional. That being said, the show wasnt bad and more stuff worked than didnt work including the flight attendant sketch with Kristen Wiig. I know its in vogue to hate the cast member with the most media attention but Kristin Wiig is the anti-Jimmy Fallon. Wiig has the ability to sell a character like no female cast member ever including Poehler, Radner, and early Oteri. She's that good and not enough people on this board appreciate how good she is. The flight attendant sketch is a prime example of this. Put anyone else in that role and the sketch is a bomb but Wiig's superior delivery MAKES the sketch. The woman can sell anything and I will never complain about her getting too much airtime especially when you have other female cast members cant get through a sketch without dropping an F-bomb. Anyeway, back to the show, it was one dimensional but funny and we'll get a better idea of where the show really is to start the year next week. Last year will be hard to top but I still expect a good season.
