Anyway, resale companies that ask for upfront fees are to be avoided as they may just sit on your resale and do nothing. There will be no motivation to help to sell your timeshare as they are "already paid by you" even before the timeshare is sold to anyone. Date Posted: Wed, Aug 17 2005, 3:17:16 Hi All, I am also a victim, but I wanted to fight back not only for myself, but for all the people in Singapore, so that they will not be conned again by all these companies. I sincerely need your help to join in our fight against these companies. I am trying to organise a fightback community to have a series of events that will educate the public on this, we really don't want any of our relatives, good friends to be conned like us. If all people in Singapore know of their tricks and the ways they conned people, what would happened to all these companies....Please email me by clicking on "Fighter" for my email. Need to get as many people as possible to join. According to CASE's assistance on Timeshare matters. They received 1,518 complaints related to Timeshare in 2003, and 2,724 in 2004. If we assumed that each case is conned for S$8000, therefore in 2003, S$12.144 million was conned and in 2004, S$21.8 million was conned. In total for 2003-2004, $33.944 million was conned not including year 2005. Ihis is a very big sum and all these companies are getting richer out of our hard earned money. Total number of people conned in 2003-2004 is 4,242 people. The figure may be more as some of them that are conned, don't know that they are conned or they did not report to CASE and we have not include year 2005. If 4,242 people can gather together, we can put a stop to all these. I know that a lot of people is very embarous of being conned by all these companies and dare not stand out or let your friends know. Don't be, as in 4,242 people there are many professionals that are being conned, I was one of them. I am a engineer and a master degree holder but I was still conned. The sales tactic of these companies are too good and there are too many hidden terms that are not make know to us when we sign on the lines. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
