1st time to this forum and surprised to see the thread to go all the way back to so many years ago. IRN/ ATC seems to have a history to go too if check out www.crimeshare.com.

I have upgraded from timeshare to 'destination' in 2005 to get away from the maintenance amounting to $350 (alternate yrs too). Paid in total 11+4k and really upset since the day i signed the agreement. Having consulted some lawyers and it seems thats is the best i can at this point! BUT NO I M NOT ASKING PPL TO UPGRADE!! Because i suspect the said subscription rate of USD50 to again increase drastically (repeating the whle cycle again) which by then i will really need HELP to get off the HOOK!! Cause i dont want to keep on having to fret over this scheme!

Sigh... then there is this company that claims to take over ur membership because they have ready australian market to sell it but with the condition that u enter into their cashback scheme which will mature in 3-6yrs time. (The lure is that u can get back what u put in initially, ya sounds good huh!) With new money of course! N not small sum too! I have not taken that and I advise u ppl to stay clear.. Bad smell i say... 3-6yrs... i dont know what will happen then!

It depresses me more with each new sales call from different (which may come from same) company capitalising on this timeshare. Yesterday this one from seminar company wanting to make use of ur vacation n pay u for it! I cant be bothered if it is scam or not! But really looks like it is HUGE out there!

Today is 25th June 2006.

On 24th June 2006 between 4:30 pm and 7:15 pm, my wife and I had encountered the same incident as Derrick illustrated in his post dated Wed, Aug 03 2005, 4:43:56

Just want to share my feeling on this whole episode:

I just cannot understand why this is still allowed to happen in our current society, where is the ethic and moral obligation of all who involved in this. I still remember clearly the faces of the few people I had interacted with whom I felt are guilty of committing this "sinful crime". I feel sorry for the few couples/individuals who had just signed up today. Their names were proudly announced as new members to the club, while the rest of us were giving them a big hand to welcome them?! What is their fate, and those who are going to sign up tomorrow, and the days to come?

May God be with you.
