I took up GCR membership for three years. I paid a total of 5K. All those who are considering joing them, PLEASE DO NOT. The amount you will be paying them will come to your holiday cost. The accomodation that they offer are Timeshare apartments and hotels which it is hard to say meet the 4 star or 5 star level to my standards. Let me inform you in KL they offer accomodation in Duta Vista (A Timeshare property), Grand Seasons, Crown Princess, KL Suites, Berjaya Time Square, Legend and few others. My first experience was to book for a holiday in Maldives. If you have been for their presentation they mention about Maldives Hilton at 500 plus for a week in a suite. That is all a lie when it came to my booking. They did not have the hotel at that price and were offering me other packages. These packages were what I could get from other travel agents probably cheaper by a few hundred dollar cheaper. When I question them about their presentation, it took them 2 to 3 days before they answered my calls. each time you call them, sorry sir the travel agaent is busy with a client. They only return my call when I raised my voice and told them I was coming down to their office to settle the matter there. They accomodation is only with limited units at the special price, this is their claim which no one can verify. I was booking this holiday 1 month in advance. I do not see any 60 to 70 % savings. I made a calculation of what GCR offer to that what is offered over the net by others, the difference is not much. I had just put in a request for Bali, to visit in December, let see what they offer. We went to their Shaw office to tell them we want to cancel during the so call 'cooling period' & the unhappy guy there asked WHY? WHY? We told him dat we are simply exerting our rights under the consumer guides. At the end he say the company will pay us back the full deposit, but unfortunately its not been done. They gave me a white photo copy slip stating they will return the money in 90 days. I dont know how reliable the document is. Can I go for case. Please advice.
