In reply to: Edwin 's message, "Encounter with Oriental Travels" on Sun, Nov 09 2003, 11:45:10

Just got an invitation to attend an exhibition by the above company through Jue Shi Marketing. As the offer of free $1000 flight voucher is too tempting, I gladly told them I would attend the 2-hour exhibition this Sat. However, I decided to check out this company on the website to see if it is a real company, then I found this forum. All this while I doubt about their offer and it seems too good to be true! Glad that I found this forum, am now decided not to waste my 2 hours there!

Thanks
Christopher

Place is run by Mitch and Cindy. Also a Shah I think. This place is like hell. Cannot go toilet or eat. No lunch time or dinner time. Cannot breathe at all. Being hawked all the time. Must be on the phone all the time. Come pay day, 25% of the pay missing. Best joke is they are telling the whole world that they are national TV advertising when they are not. Lied to people that they did promotions for DBS and Singtel. I wonder how come a company like this can last for so long. Govt don't take actions on them at all ? Everyone suffer. Employees suffer. People have to buy $69 for a gift that will take forever to arrive. It looks like a toy from China.

Also first time he stated that we have to be their for 2 hours, and we will be verfied for ic by some official and we have to attend thanks give function. When we denied, he says company has several such function in the afternoon's and evenings. so we are confused. Sometime's he is forcing

I feel some gimmik in this, can any one had experience about the above invitation. Also advise me in this regard.

Hi, just curious in finding out whether you did received the diamond watch that they promise they would deliver to you once you sent the cheque with voucher back to Jue Shi Marketing?
Btw, i've made a check in the website but couldn't find any info on the name of the diamond watch "Rene Remmigaux". Think must be a fake watch with fake glass stones on it, rite?

After i had read some of the article above regarding the price collection. It seem like everyone gets to collect a diamond watch. It sound like those who did not join the club will get the diamond watch. What about those who join the club, what did they get?And who get the car, plasma 42" tv and note book?

I spent 4 hours at the office listening to all the pep talk about 5-star accommodation worldwide! The catch - pay S$30K for lifetime membership. Will company lasts a lifetime? Then I got cheated by the complimentary flight voucher. I have to pay my own 5-star accommodation! Supposed to be a thank-you gift, but becomes useless piece of paper.

I went to check it out lately and found it was a scam. The marketing agent will tell u that u r one of the top 4 winners of the top 4 prices,i.e car, plasma tv, laptop computer n ' elegant diamond watch 'but u need to be there to listen to a 2hrs talk b4 the draw. when talk finished, they will pester u to buy a membership of $ 30,000 in order to 'save'money in yr future holiday. I refused to buy n asked for lucky draw to be conducted. then they told me there was no lucky draw in front of the public. told me that i only won a ' watch '. To claim that, I need to pay $24.50 n post to Jue Shi marketing. I doubt the watch is worth that amount ? The watch's brand name can't even be found in the internet!
Outside their office, I found that every couple ( about 15 couples on that day) who went there were told there r also the top 4 winners of the top 4 prizes,
Suggest someone write to Straits Time to expose this scam .

No, don't go.

My wife and I went there last night. Luckily we are wise enough to NOT sign up. But it is still a waste of 4 hours (vs. 2 hours they told you).

The "awards" turns out to be useless papers. The "digital video camera" is a 320x240 (76 K pixel) resolution, using memory card. And the memory card is NOT included. Fortunatly I called Jue Shi to check this out. I decide even not to send the SGD69 "shipping and handling" fee. I doubt the digital video camera worth more than SGD69.

Hi, everyone, I turned up yesterday, fortunately they disqualified me due I in a corp trvl line. I was furious as I had informed the guy earlier. I demanded the for the gift as they have wasted both my and husband leave to attend this. In end they did give me, I was shock the digitel video camcorder does't look like it worth sdg1300 as guy had told me and the Home Theatre system which worth sgd500 realy look like a cheap stuff both no brand. And I have to pay SGD69 each to claim for item. I surf the net to ebay.com , I found out the video camcorder is only worth AUD35.00 , when I called the guy and the reception from Jui Shi, they still says the item cost sgd1300.00. Anyway I am not going to claim the item and have dump both vouchers in the dustbin.

The wife and I went to a "presentation" for "$4000" worth of gift vouchers - that turned out to be duds. Eg: $1000 off flight tickets to fixed destinations, but must buy hotel stay at RACK rates. Who pays rack rates anyway? Yeap. some cheapo watch and dubious digicam... Gotta pay them first with $69.00 before they will deliver. Does that sound familiar to everyone? Kinda like that African lottery scam - you pay to earn your prize.. You're right - how can this company continue to exist in Singapore? Daylight robbery. We are contemplating lodging a police report. They made us sign agreement, but didn't show us the terms and conditions (in USD) at the back of the agreement. They said we had 3 working days to change our mind, but attempts to contact "the person in charge" futile. I've taken this up with my bank. Hopefully it will be approved.
Will anyone consider lodging a police report? I think we will have more credibility in large numbers. Email me. We'll meet up at the police station to lodge the report.
