Hi All,
On '99, my wife and I went to Orchard road and get tricked by LGM to come to their office's to take prizes we've won. We came and got tricked (Again, What a fool) to buy their timeshares for amount of $12000, the agent said we could just pay installment on whatever amount we are capable of each month. After that we start paying small payments each month for few months, but due to financial at that time, we stop paying. We got letter from LGM said that they will use debt collector and lawyer suit. And we response to their letter saying that we're in financial problem. We pay small amount another 2-3 months after that letter. And stop paying afterwards, and we decided to just forget the amount we paid so far ( Around S$4000 ).
Now after all these years, LGM contact us asking for a meeting. I'm afraid that they will sue us for not paying the rest of the installment. Cause I read on the contract that if we stop paying them, we will loose all our rights and they will filled a lawsuit against us and we still have to pay the rest of the installment.
Could anyone suggest what I should do? Can they sue us to pay for the rest of the installment? We have never use their service for vacation. Can I just ignore them or whatever lawyer's letter from them in the future? And just forget everything? Let be gone be by gone. Or do I still have to pay the balance left? Cause we afraid that we'll have future trouble with law.
Appreciate your kindly help.
