Jeffs car is an ADRL XTF (extreme 10.5) car. His car is an Ex Texas Pro Stock car the Larry Otwell let Jeff use. I'm not allowed to say how much the car weights so asking is pointless!!! Outlaw 10.5 cars have to weight around 3000 pounds and I can tell you Jeff's car doesn't weight close to that. I would say that Jeff's car make about the same power as the nitrous pro mods but thats just a guess I'm not sure. Jeff knows what he is doing with the clutch in that car that is one of the things that makes him fast. Jeff is a smart dude thats the real reason he is so fast and consistent!!

Give mike or Robert a call at gforce motorsports. They have a 69 camero up there right now you can take a look at, that they put a LSX motor in with a supercharger. They have done several of the. They use hke LSD motors and are a procharger dealer. That is my 2 cents.

what specs on cam? what heads are on it? how much compression? it probably feels good in 1st because a 700r4 has a very low 1st gear ratio then a pretty big drop from 1st to 2nd , just guessing but you probably too much camshaft for a stock converter and too much cam for your engine combo.

low gear band is for low gear only if the the car is rolling forward when you apply the transbrake then it's your rev. clutchs not low gear band. did you check the clutch clearance on the rev. clutchs? look for about .010 per clutch if it's more you need to tighten up the clutch pack.

band adj. on low gear torque band to 72 in lbs. then back it out 2.5 turns out on standard band 3 turns on wide band.(936)672-4028 cell #

Need to build a 351w motor (stock 3.5 stroke and 5.956 rods) and looking to see if anyone here has some good .030 forged pistons for sale before buying from a vendor. The motor will be built for use with boost so they need to be dished/low compression.

TRW/Speed Pro/SRP/JE/Probe/DSS/Ross, etc. Any will be considered. Used ok too as long as they are in good shape.

Let me know if any of you have some old slugs layin around.

Thanks in advance. Looking to buy quick.

I HAVE A BONE STOCK CHEVY 454 MOTOR. WITHOUT USING NOS, WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST/ MOST EFFECTIVE, WAY TO REACH 600HP FOR THE "STREET" EX. TYPE OF HEADS, BORE, CRANK,INTAKE, WHATEVER INFO. WOULD BE GREAT

Are you going to rebuild it? It's not likely you can get 600 hp from a stock 454 short block. Most stock pistons won't give you enough compression even with small combustion chamber heads, not to mention the quench sucks since they are typically down in the hole. A zero deck 10:1 .030 over 454 (461) with AFR 305 heads with the CNC chamber option, a 250-260ish @.050 .650ish lift solid roller cam, Edelbrock Victor R and 1050 carb should get you there. This assumes good machine work on the block, decent pistons and proper assembly.

As small a dome as you can get to achieve a 10:1 compression ratio. At full deck thickness, the AFR CNC'd chambers come in around 121cc's. Have them cut down to about 114cc's, which is about as much as you can deck them without getting into the intake seat. You want to maintain a positive valve drop (valve below the deck surface). The smaller chamber will allow you to use a smaller dome. SRP has some shelf pistons that will work. Go with a 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 ring package, which is standard on most performance pistons.

Stroke it to a 496 and use 9:1 TRW forged pistons on dimple rods. Find a set of cheap merlin heads and a used roller cam/rockers and you're there. Very easy to make 600 hp with a BBC

my 496 w/ srp small domes 10:1 comp with some patriot performance heads and a ultradyne/bullet cam 231/239 .550/.575 hydraulic tappet. it made 575 at 5600. valves floated before cam peaked. i am going to change the springs and it should hit the 600 mark. much cheaper compared to goin solid roller in my opinion.

I WALKED DOWN AND TALKED WITH FRANKIE MAYBE 10 MIN AFTER THE CRASH.. FRANKIE WAS SITTING ON A GOLF CART THE EMT HAD JUST CHECKED HIM OUT. FRANKIE SAID HE WAS RATTLED PRETTY GOOD AND WAS CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED BUT IT WAS COMING BACK TO HIM.
I'M NOT SURE BUT HE MAY HAVE BEEN OUT FOR A FEW MINUTES. HE HAD THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO SAY HE WAS CONFUSED, I THOUGHT HAT WAS PRETTY DAMN GOOD. HE WAS RATTLED BUT SAID HE WAS OK. SOMEBODY SAID HE BUSTED HIS HELMENT.
-PAUL WAS TELLING HIM WHAT HAPPENED AND FRANKIE WAS REMEMBERING. FRANKIE ASKED WAS DOUG OK -HE WAS WORRIED ABOUT HIM.

DAZED AND CONFUSED LOOKING AT HIS TORE UP CAR. (IT DID NOT ROLL) -AS PAUL WALKED UP THE FIRST THING FRANKIE WANTED TO KNOW, "WAS IT ON A PASS?" I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! FRANKIE WAS WORRIED WHAT THE CAR LOOKED LIKE ON THAT PASS AND WAS IT A GOOD ONE!! YEA THE "MADMAN" WAS COMING AROUND.

FRANKIE WAS MORE HURT HE TORE UP HIS CAR, I COULD SEE IN HIS FACE HE WAS WORRIED HOW HE WAS GOING TO GET IT BACK TOGETHER, IT SHOWED.

FRANKIE AND PAUL I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU GUYS DO IT, BUT ALL US FANS APPRECIATE IT!! YOU KNOW IF YOU GUYS EVER TOOK A BREAK, NOBODY WOULD BLAME YOU. YOUR ON ABOUT A 15 YEAR NINE LINE BIND THRASH -WITHOUT A DAY OFF. IT'S OK IF YOU GUYS WANT TO REST FOR A FEW DAYS~

DOUG WAS OK, GOT SOME FRONT END DAMAGE. IT LOOKS LIKE FRANKIE JUST GOT LOOSE AT ABOUT 450- 500' MARK AND THE CAR JUST CAME AROUND ON HIM. SMACKED BOTH WALLS AND CLIPPED DOUG.

You know, I think it's amazing how the cool cars at the track today are the same cars you would have found at the track 30 to 40 years ago. The technology has changed some. But if you were at Porter dragstrip back in the 70's you would see camaro's, chevelle's, nova's, fords and mopars just like today. I'm talk'in the same year models! That's pretty damn cool I think.

THEY ARE PLENTY GOOD FOR YOUR "MANY PROJECT" CARS CHAD.

IM SURE IT WON'T EVEN MAKE IT DOWN THE TRACK WITHOUT SPITTING OUT A ROD OR TWO .

THAT ORANGE BUCKET YOU HAD THAT WEIGHED 1500LBS WITH A SMALLBLOCK WITH A 600 SHOT RAN A 5.30 ONCE.

THIS WONDER BUCKET YOU HAVE NOW MIGHT RUN SOME 7.40'S IN THE 1/8TH..

STICK WITH SOMETHING YOU KNOW CHAD, YOU DON'T KNOW DICK ABOUT TURBO CARS AND NEVER WILL.

GO GET YOU A 1000LB PINTO AND PUT A JUNKYARD MOTOR IN IT WITH 2 KITS ON IT!

-For one thing this car is far from a "Bucket", If I spit a few rods out what difference does it make? You don't pay for my cars.
-The Orange Camaro weighed closer to 3000 pounds, I went 5.80's all motor with the 421.The 406 belonged to Kevin and was very consistent running 5.40's on a 300 shot and we sprayed an additional 250 and collapsed the pistons. BTW it went on 5.27 so get your facts...
-Your right, I don't know shit about turbos but if you had the balls to post your real name I bet I know enough to drag your ass.
-Thanks for keeping tabs on what I have done. Post your "Real Name" so that everyone knows what "You" have done for the racing community.

Did you get your Wife to help you think of that reply? Let me get this race straight, you have a back-half/tube chassis car with a 540(Unless you traded motors last week). As you already know, my car is stock suspension, full interior, 331(302 base short block), T76 turbo with an air to air inner-cooler so please explain to be how I should be embarrassed if you out run me. You have a full blown race car and I have a small tire street car that can be driven anywhere.

It will be in your best interest to contact the highest bidder on your eBay ad. After I bust that ass no one is going to want to buy it. Pink All out will ban your subscription on TV because it will be an National embarrassment! Its all good... Just remember its just business, don't take the ass dragging personal. Come by before you go over to Big D's tonight and I will give you a ride to let you know what you are against.

not tube chassis, factory front suspension, back half dont mean shit, the 8.5 cars are running faster than most back half cars, i have a back halved street car with a 10-1 540 pump gas motor, i just said closer to a 496 from that 600 cu shit you were talking, plus im not a racer, im a buyer seller, and i wont hold you to the race we talked about, i guess you didnt register anyway, but just know that if you get next to that bitch im turning the nos off and dragging your ass and then im telling everybody that my back halved street car with a horn and blinkers and shit beat bad chads turbo monsters ass, and although my wife is probably the brains of the house she usualy leaves the shit talking to me.

bore x bore x .7854 x stroke x #of cylinders , in your case 4.310 x 4.310 x .7854 x 4.25 x 8 = 496.04 cubic inches

I have a 2001 7.3 powerstroke that I have owned since new. It now has 170,000 miles and still runs pretty good. Here lately it seems to run rough at idle and at low RPM like when your in overdrive and going about 45 mph. I am pretty sure its the injectors. Is there a good way to clean them or do they need to be replaced. I have tried seafoam and the other snake oil bullshit and that did not work. I am hoping they can be removed and cleaned without having to replace them. Any suggestions?

Dan, does this happen all of the time or sometimes? If so hot or cold or always/loaded or unloaded/any warning lights on in cluster and or codes in it?? Chip/program installed or no? What makes you think its injectors? Injectors usually cause a miss/rough idle/dead cylinder type problem!! Diesel Power Services is a good additive also FMC makes a good cetane/inj cleaner to run in fuel

Billy I change the fuel filter at 30,000 and just replaced it a month ago. I am thinking of puuling them all and having them checked. Who can do this in the Houston area. Thanks everybody for the replies.

James, It has the same programmer since it was new. There are no check engine lights on. It runs fine at mid to upper RPM it just has lost some power that it used to have and misses at idle and low RPM.

Let me ask you something, Do you make a lot of short trips with your diesel or are you on the highway a lot???? The reason I am asking is because I only work about 20 min away from my work and before, I would take all the back streets, a lot of stop and go. Before long I was having the same problem as you are discribing. First off,I do not believe it is your cam sensor, they are almost like a light bulb, if you should have cam sensor failure, sometimes it will let you restart the motor a move to a better area. As for me mine failed @ westhiemer and hwy6 in the middle of the intersection with trailer in tow(nice, huh). And it was rush hour. Anyway to help remedy my idle problems was simple, use a cetane booster once a month, get out and run it on the freeway WOT a couple of times every chance you get, daily if you can. Get as much soot and potash off the injector tips as possible just by driving it. Also about every 2 fill ups I do drain my fuel filter(the little red lever to back of it)this seems to help with water and also DO NOT wait 30,000 miles to change your fuel filter I change mine about every 7-8000 miles......I cleared my problem hope this helps............

i just went through the same issue. you are not going to bevieve me but in the fuel tank, there is the fuel pick up. in the pick up there are 3 filters, 2 for suction 1 for return. they are stopped up. before you spend any money on injectors try this.. dont ignore this post it will save you money.

there is a screen in the return @ the regulator, smetimes you can clean it out with some carb cleaner, drain the housing, put rags in the bottom of the ff housing to soak up the carb cleaner. When the screen gets plugged,it has a hard time returning the aeriated fuel to the tank, the injector rails are dead headed so the air goes through the injectors, causes the above issues and more, along with a loss of power.Clean it out, should run great when done.

Ok, I have a proform electrict water pump that was originally a semi dark redish. I didn't like the color so I scuffed every nook and cranny with 600 grit then painted it semi flat black. The pump has worked great and the paint has stayed on perfect except in one spot. I grounded the pump to the bottom passenger side bolt that holds the pump to the block with a real nice gold plated audio terminal and I used a washer on top of the terminal before I bolted it on, and I know it's a good ground because I claned the bolt hole out before putting it on . Anyway the paint has started to lift about an 1/4 inch all around where the terminal is connected. This is no big deal to me , I was just curious if something elctrical or something with the ground is causing the paint to lift. Just curious

looking for help with carb choices

I am trying to decide what carb to go with after some recent upgrades to my engine. The two carbs I am looking at are either a 1050 dominator which I would have to use the 4150 to 4500 adapter plate with or a 950 hp carb. The engine is a 10:1 509" bbc with a 640 lift solid roller cam and cnc and hand ported Dart pro 1 325cc heads. The engine will be in a car with some minimal street cruiseing. If I go with the 950 hp it will be an off the shelf carb. If I use the dominator which I already have I will probly have it built and set up to my engine.
My next question is how much will the 4150 to 4500 adapter plate effect performance?

There was an article on this same settup in the summer of this year engine masters magazine. It was all done in a dyno room starting with a 1000 hp holley on a team g, then they went to an adapter with a 1050 dominator, then they swithced to a 4500 manifold with the dominator. This was a 468 that put out no less than 760 hp on all the pulls which tells me it was a high compression motor (it never mentioned in the article what the compression was). The lowest dyno number was the dominator with an adapter on the 4150 intake. The best number was the 1000hp on the 4150 intake with a one inch spacer. They said that they expected that when they put the motor in a car it would act much better with the 1000hp. Personally I think with the compression you have the dominator would be too much especially if it's going to see street use.
[> Subject: Call Pro Systems and be done with it. Price competitively with Holly HP series carbs. He will set you strait. You could also modifiy the intake instead of running the adapter.

OK Joe I guess a 5.26 kills my chance at 8.5 . Hell I can barely do that on Ws and I weigh 2675 with my fat ass in it. This is a truue SBC AT WEIGHT ON TWO GOOD SIZE KITS! Just a point I was trying to make for you to help the smallblocks out. I will give Kenny props again , had no doubt you could do it but I did like it better when I thought it was a 509". LOL Good luck guys and if Joe has a weak moment and lets the little motors in at 2600/2700 lbs Ill be the one chasing your asses down the track. Hey Kenny 20s were to easy now lets see some teens.

WE WILL ADD WEIGHT TO THE 5.20 CARS, KENNY SAYS HE WILL JUST USE ONE KIT OR ADD #100.

I WANT TO DO SOMETHING NEW, WE HAVE 2 -5.20 CARS THAT NEED SLOWING UP UNTIL THE REST OF THE PACK HAS TIME TO CATCH UP.

HOW ABOUT WE DO SOMETHING TO SLOW BOTH 5.20 CARS DOWN WITH WEIGHT OR 1 KIT IN KENNY CASE... "UNTIL" SOMEONE ELSE RUNS A 5.20! THE NEXT CAR THAT RUNS A 5.20 TAKES THE RESTRICTIONS OFF AND TURNS KENNY LOOSE AGAIN.

HEY MIGHT BE DIFFERENT BUT MIGHT WORK - WE HAVE GOT TO HAVE SOME NEW RULES SO WE CAN KEEP CARS COMING OUT FOR THE HEADS UP CLASSES..

THE OLD RULES ARE HURTING HEADS UP RACING WE NEED SOMETHING NEW! JUST A THOUGHT

Joe - If it were me I would rather you just add weight. That gives Kenny and Triangle Speed the opportunity to still work on their combo knowing that when the weight is removed they got it goin' on. Hell I am going to have to add two more kits to my car just to try and keep up with these guys - that's assuming the motor will stay together. Joe whatever you decide we will try out best to keep up with the cream of the crop.

It all depends on what you paid got the car OR what the car books for. If you did an even trade then you don't have to pay the taxes... I think the taxes are .0625%

I think the title transfer fee is $20.00 and the registration is going to be about $60.00

I may be off a little bit this will get you in the ballpark of what you are looking to spend.
