I must admit that's one of my main reasons for preferring T/7 over J/7. Watching the show I noticed more subtext worthy scenes between the captain and Seven, but there was always that distinction of position that made me uneasy with the pairing. Although when I started reading Voyager stories they were J/7 and there were some extremely good ones that almost had me convinced...but then I watch an episode or read something with Seven being the sexual pupil and I went off the pairing.

I think the fun of T/7 is that they are alike and different in such a complementary way. Also we get to totally change everything around a little, although you've got to watch out for it becoming too formulaic, but I suppose that's the same for all fandoms.

I hope T/7 and J/7 both continue for a long time, or at least until there's another fandom or two for us to write and read for.
