Subject: Task 12

The Truman Show, by Andrew Niccol, is one of the funniest movie I have ever seen. Not only funny, this movie is perfect because it shows a guy, Jim Carry, who is watched by his whole city. Nowadays, this situation is normal, just like "Big Brother" and so on. Anyway, I found it hard to choose a scene I liked since I liked almost everything. There were some good ones in the bathroom, the kitchen, but to be honest, the scenes at the end of the movie were the ones that called most of my attention. For instance:

INT. CONTROL ROOM - NIGHT

MOSES and ROMAN pace at the back of the control room.
CHRISTOF is focused on his monitor. Like Truman, he steels
himself for a fight.

CHRISTOF
Cue music...

SIMEON
(hesitant)
What music?

CHRISTOF
(irritated)
Storm music... Wagner...

CHLOE
(watching the monitor)
There's no rescue boat in the area.
He won't know what to do.

MOSES
(trying to appeal to
Christof's sense of
reason)
For God's sake, Chris. The whole
world is watching. We can't let
him die in front of a live audience.

CHRISTOF
He was born in front of a live
audience.
(never taking his eyes
from the screen)
Don't worry, he's not willing to
risk his life. His doubts will
turn him back.

Simeon reluctantly winds the controls for "WAVE," "WIND" and
"RAIN" towards their maximum settings.

CHRISTOF
Kill the lights.

This scene was very confunsing and funny, as usual.

Writing: The movie I do recommend everyone to see it is "Callas Forever". It is a Spanish movie about an awesome Spanish singer, whose name is Maria Callas. I�m so sorry, but I cannot remember the author�s name. I�ll check and let you know as soon as possible. It�s been played in the theater. I saw it about two or three weeks ago at Belas Artes, which means that I saw it at a very tough moment of my life, which inspired me and helped me a lot to go through all that. The reason why it called so much of my attention is because that woman fights and charges her life completely even though she has a problem with her vocal chords. It is extraordinary! After watching her strengh and power, I was not sad anymore. On the contrary, I was happier than ever, because I was sure I could do just like her. In case anyone is down in his/her life, do not waste your time crying, staying at home and doing nothing, go and watch "Callas Forever" because it will surely make a difference in your life.

Nevertheless, do not watch "American Pie" neither the first one nor the second one. It is a trash! Teenagers, I guess, might enjoy it a whole bunch because it shows stupid things that teenagers do, such as parties (lots of them), drinks, sex, drugs, and all these things, you know. However, I have to admit that it is funny sometimes because it is so stupid that you have to laugh somehow.
