If you really want to meet them, then it sounds like you have to travel outside New Zealand. If you're hoping they'll eventually come back to New Zealand, then you'll have a very long wait, probably many more years.

It's easier to meet a band at the hotel they're staying at then it is to meet a band backstage. Backstage, there's a lot of security and distractions. There are also different type of backstage passes, and some of them won't give you access to the band.

If you don't know what hotel the band is staying at, then maybe you can go to the concert and hang out near where the band's tour bus is, and hope that the band will be nice enough and stop to talk to the fans. The band's tour bus may be easy to find because other fans could be hanging out nearby. It's easier to meet Def Leppard now than it was in the 1980s when they were at their most popular. But you're probably not going to meet them as long as you're hoping they'll come back to New Zealand.
