Subject: The Weakest Link: Eurovision Special

Lindsay and I are just back from a taping of THE WEAKEST LINK with Anne Robinson. It was a special celebrity edition.

This will air in the UK the night of Eurovision 2004.

The contestants, all former Eurovision contestants except one, played for money for their charity of choice.

The contestants were:

- Sonia (UK poppet of the late 80s)
- Lyn Paul (singer from The New Seekers, Taboo the Musical, usw.)
- James Fox (2004 UK entry for Eurovision)
- Nicki French ("Total Eclipse of the Heart" & "Don't Play That Song Again")
- Katie Boyle (Eurovision presenter in the 1960s)
- Bobby G (from the horrendous 1981 Eurovision winners Bucks Fizz)
- Jessica Garlick (UK's entry from 2002)
- Katrina (as in '& the Waves', "Walking On Sunshine", "Love Shine A Light")
- Jemini (UK's 2003 entry and the first to score 'Nul Points' for the UK!)

Highlights & surprises:

Jemini were voted off first! No surprise there, I guess ...

After crying earlier in the show, Sonia blew me away with how well she could sing live! Also, she is very VERY short ...

Katrina is quick-witted, clever, fit and a smart dresser! Katrina & the
Waves (everyone in the band is British except Katrina) represented the UK in
1997 ... and WON! She's lived in the UK for 30 years but her accent is
still very American. She is quite tall ...

Jessica Garlick is smart (if devoid of personality) though I've never heard
her song (hit?).

James Fox is thick & cocky.

Nicki French has tank arse (we were sat right behind her!) but she's very
sweet & friendly .

I shan't say who won but I guess it's surprising.

8-)

Richard
