Break up with them? The analog for that would be that God snuffs your soul out of existence. But that's not what the Christian god does.

Staying with your somewhat strange analogy, if you're like the Christian god, you go find your ex-girlfriend, kidnap her and take her to the torture chamber you made in your basement, where you keep her barely alive in order to prolong her torment as long as possible.
