Within a few months of the centre being taken over by JD etc. it was decided to set up the "Friends of Hafan".

The people running this being - Wendy and Julie - Two lovely women.

The main aim was to keep all HYC goers in touch and uptodate. A news booklet/letter was published on a regular basis and then sent direct to all persons on the postal list.

During the setup of "Friends of HYC" all the people were asked if they would/could make a donation of money or perhaps make a contribution via 'Direct Debit' - Many people did this and all funds went to Wendy and Julie and then at the appropriate time the funds were given over to the centre to purchase something of benefit for all who went there.

It was openly stated at that time that HYC was a Spiritual Centre - Run by the people, for the people. Within the price range of the lowest paid person, so if they were in need of guidance or spiritual help/upliftment they could go there.

It was also understood that the centre could/would never be owned by anyone and would REMAIN forever in TRUST.

At the time JD and ALL who had anything to do with the centre firmly believed this to be true!

However.... It's not so....

HYC is a PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY owned solely by ALAN MAYZE AND HIS FAMILY......

Now to the point of this thread.....

As anybody told all these people who give money to HYC by DIRECT DEBIT (baring in mind many might not know how or have the facility of the computer), that they are giving there money to a PERSON/PERSONS that own this PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY and not therefore making donations to a Spiritual Centre/Trust as they were lead to believe?????

I do know that when JD left the centre at the end of April that the "Friends of Hyc" continued as normal. I also know that a large sum of money was handed over to the centre during that summer. It was intended that the fund be used for the memorial gardens.....

Just a thought......

Perhaps someone should let these people know if they didn't/haven't already.
