Freshmen (and women) were expected to wear beanies at some times. I never did, and I never learned the details of that custom.

there are a couple pics of students on the balconeys of the sw towers upper floors

The lounge floor balconies were freely accessible for several years.


In some way the archive seems censored in that there are no pics of say Grateful Dead at spring concert or any spring concert pics for that matter and very little of campus activism etc., just not much newer stuff.

I don't know whether it would be censorism, or that there is a limit to how much they bother making available. Just the mechanics of scanning and loading into the database is a lot of work. There are huge numbers of photos that have been taken through the decades. Some of the photos don't scan well.
