I am not from that far back but I did live in Cance in the mid 90's. First the subject of this thread: I seem to remember going down a tunnel from Herter or Bartlett to the Campus Center, which I cannot find any evidence of now. Was this real or something from a dream?
I love historical stuff, and love the Pierpont site, although I would like to see a page of broader spectrum sperated by decade and then dorm. Like 1970's Van Meter for instance. Or some other similar format. Anything that could give someone a feel for what life was like as a student of the 70's, 80's, 90's or beyond: where did you eat? What did you do for fun and where did you go for that? What did downtown Amherst look like then? What did the campus look like then and what was there at that time ( I remember reading something about a Umass Cinema from the 1970's, that would have been nice when I went there!) Pictures from students and their dormrooms or pics from around campus from previous decades? And so on, you catch the drift. There is something called the Campuscam in downtown Amherst now, too bad that didn't exist since the 60's! http://www.masslive.com/campuscam/
When did that go in by the way? So any ideas would be helpful on where I can go to see these kinds of things, or hopefully someone will or already has created a website like this. THANKS!
