I'm a man and i love this movie. It makes me cry every time.
But i can relate to it very much because i'm gay and i have been through basically the same thing as paulie.
The boy i loved and who loved me at some point was just unable to admit to society and i think most of all his father, that he was gay.
He now lives with a woman and he is unfortunately, but not surprisingly, very unhappy.
me, i can't say that all society's prejudice doesn't hurt me. But i also know that those views people have, have very little to do with who i am.
