I am talking from a point of view that is nothing like business or a soccer team...relationships are complicated enough without having to hide all the time. Paulie would go against everything she is if she kept keeping it a secret. She would lose what we all admire about her--her honesty and dedication. She would become a liar and end up conforming.
You can still be in love with someone but not be with them. I've only been doing it for a year or so.
