you're welcome for the nice and encouraging words about our site, thanks a lot! :)

To understand why Paulie injures Jake (actually she's not intending to kill him) you have to read the interviews with Leá Pool on our site to understand her intentions and way she sees the characters. It has a lot to do with heros and that it's more impressing if characters act like knights or Greek antique heroes then soap opera characters.

Look at the letter Paulie wrote to Jake:

"Jake, you butthole!! Saturday.
Noon, dark noon for you. East
side ravine...Duel to the
death for the heart of my
Queen, Victoria...Yours
Truly, Paulie 'The Raptor.'"

It's a duel to the death and as actually Paulie isn’t able to kill Jake in the duel she's committing suicide to fulfill what she announced.
