"cara" Marty,
"dear" Marty,

well, fist of all i wish i had more time and energy for a longer answer, but dah!!! my day was pretty exhausting! :\

i totally agree, the message of L&D, the movie is about "love" true passionate love, the book is about the story of the strict boarding school with all its problems.

well, i like about the book to get a lot of details, like the letter to Paulies mother or why Mouse's father did not appear at the dinner.

but somehow everything in the book is described a bit "awful" i mean, there never is this beautiful surrounding, this awesome characters in the movie... the movie is more "sweet" and the book more "bitter" to me.

up to now i didn't really understood what these tests should have been good for and some of them could have been worked out way more detailed, while there would have been no need to describe other things that way...

i'm glad the ending in the movie is different, i would not like to see Piper in an ending like in the movie...

but maybe this would be better to discuss with the people who love to via email, as i don't want to keep reading the book.

take care,

Stef
